Background
TG Genting Casino sits on the Cambodia–Vietnam border directly adjacent to a border crossing checkpoint. A small casino has sat here for some years, but facilities began to expand in mid-2024 and it has now doubled in size. An area next to the casino known as Genting Park hosts online scam operators. Cyber Scam Monitor is aware of several people being rescued from this site.
Various posts on scam industry Telegram channels talk about conditions at Genting Park. Posts allege that people have been tricked into the compound and held there and are forced to pay ‘compensation’ of up to US$20,000 to leave. The post below includes a graphic image that shows a horrific wound to the buttocks of someone the poster alleges was beaten at Genting Park.
Incidents
In December 2025, police raided the site and detained 30 South Korean nationals. The riad occurred after information was received from the Cambodia-Korea joint working group set up to tackle online scams involving or targeting South Korean nationals.
There have also been reports of illegal cockfighting taking place at TG Genting Casino since at least 2023. Various online posts allege that Vietnamese nationals have been allowed to cross the border without passports to gamble at the casino and bet on cock fighting. Local media reported in 2024 that despite concerns raised by local villagers, the police took no action.
Which Actors and Companies Have Been Linked to TG Genting Casino?
Vietnamese national Nguyễn Thành Long (also known as Tiến Bịp) posted multiple videos and photos of himself at TG Genting throughout 2024. This included an image of himself sat at a desk under the TG Genting Casino sign, behind a name plaque reading ‘Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Long’. Tiến Bịp is a controversial character and has built a persona as an ‘internet gangster’, posting prolifically online about ‘gangster ethics’ and promoting online gambling. In July 2025 he was charged in Vietnam for organising illegal use of narcotics.
We were unable to confirm who owns or manages this property. It is unclear if Tiến Bịp maintains any links to the casino.
