Background
Situated directly on the border with Vietnam, site TK02 appears in several posts on Telegram channels used by scam industry insiders. It is located on National Road 72 in Trapeang Phlong, Tboung Khmum Province. This relatively short stretch of road is home to several major online scam compounds, most of which have emerged relatively recently. This includes Grand Golden Casino, Rongxingdi Resort World, Xa Mat Casino, and Site TK05 (profiled here, here, here, and here).
Posts from 2024 discuss one scam operation that relocated to the site from Tachileik, Myanmar. According to the posts, the scam group targets men in China and has workers from China and Vietnam, many of whom were trafficked or deceived into the work. Failure to meet performance targets or follow orders resulted in beatings, the posters allege, and although people were made to sign a one-year contract they were still not allowed to leave after the term was over. One post alleges that a beating resulted in the death of a Chinese man.
